Invitation

by Robin Groen

This went through quite a long design process. It’s not easy trying to satisfy two people with very different cultural backgrounds and expectations. The repeated Chinese character is ‘xi’ which means happiness.

If you have two of them together, they represent double happiness which is a traditional element of all Chinese weddings. In China, you”ll see it on invitations, the front doors of the bride and groom’s families and all over the wedding venue. We had it on the invitations, our front door and the wedding cake.

I was going for an ”East meets West” feel with the design which I created with InDesign and Photoshop. Big thanks to Chris Barton for sorting out the printing.
